Residential Comprehensive Value Education Camp

Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Salem conducted three day Residential Comprehensive Value Education Camp from 24 to 26 April 2016. The program was for boys and girls studying in class 9th, 10th, 11th & 12th. The venue was at The Surabi College of Polytechnic, Tiruchengode, Namakkal.

The camp was attended by 203 students (137 boys + 66 girls). Students from districts of Tirupur, Namakkal & Salem reached the venue on 23rd evening. Separate lodging facilities for boys & girls in different buildings were provided. Morning tea, breakfast, noon refreshments, lunch, evening refreshments & Dinner was provided for all at the dining hall on all days.

Daily the value education started at 5.00 a.m with yoga, exercise, prayer & meditation.

  • Sri Parimalam, Correspondent, Gnanasambanthar Mat School, Dharapuram, Tirupur
  • Sri Gunasekaran, Principal, Sri Bharatiya Vidya Mandir Mat School, Gurusamypalayam
  • Dr.Kumarasamy, Secretray, Sri Vidya Mandir Mat School, Rasipuram.

A total of 10 topics on education, health, future, total personality development, cultural development & other subjects were discussed.

During the camp a total of 120 tree plantings were done. Visual presentations, bhajans, swadhyaya (book reading) was done on all days. After evening prayer, group discussions, silambam, karate demonstrations were conducted. Sports like rope pulling / 100 mts obstacle running were organised. Drawing, oratorical and essay writing competitions were held and prizes distributed

The camp came to close by 5.30 p.m on 26th April with closing ceremony speech by Swami Yatatmananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Salem and vote of thanks by Sri Gopumadhavan, Principal, Surabi College of Polytechnic.

One set of Swamiji’s books and certificates were distributed to all the participants of the camp.
